Portrait of Jackson Armstrong

I am a Financial Consultant licensed in Ontario (LLQP) and an independent agent with Experior Financial Group. I am based in Burlington and work with clients across the GTA and Hamilton-Burlington.

Because I am independent, I compare options across several companies rather than one. My role is to bring clear numbers to the table so you, your accountant and your lawyer can make a decision that fits your situation.

Who I help

Owners who have built something, and the families who rely on it

Incorporated business owners

  • Retained earnings. Surplus left in a corporation may be taxed as passive income. Some owners look at whether part of it could grow in a tax-exempt structure instead, depending on your situation.
  • Estate liquidity and tax at death. The deemed disposition at death may create a large tax bill. Planning ahead can help your estate pay it without selling assets in a hurry.
  • Buy-sell and key-person needs. If a partner or key person were gone, where would the money for a buyout or lost revenue come from?

Families

  • Income protection. Making sure your household could keep its home and plans if an income stopped.
  • Debt and mortgage coverage. Looking at what would need to be paid off and what would be left.
  • Leaving more to the next generation. Simple steps that may reduce what an estate loses to taxes and fees.
How I work

Alongside your accountant, not instead of them

Your accountant knows your corporation. I add a second set of eyes on the protection and estate side, and I share my numbers so they can review them.

  1. A 20-minute conversation. We look at where you are today and what matters to you.
  2. A side-by-side comparison. I compare options across several companies and show the trade-offs plainly.
  3. Review with your accountant and lawyer. You take it to your accountant and lawyer. Nothing moves until it makes sense to all of you.
My Story

From problem solving to financial consulting

I completed the Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Mohawk College in 2024, and while I was in school I worked in the field as a co-op Mechanical Engineering Technologist at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems. I loved it, from piping drawings to a capstone project on preventative maintenance and remote monitoring of ventilation and filtration systems. Still, I felt I would eventually be capped. I had planned to pursue my P.Eng, but partway through my schooling the requirements changed to require a university degree, and I chose not to invest more time and money.

So I thought back to what I have always enjoyed. As a kid, I would help strangers in stores, toy stores included, whenever I noticed they had a problem. My parents still recall this. In high school, I loved my job as a sales associate in the hardware department at Canadian Tire. People came to me with their problems, and I helped them find answers that solved them. My shifts flew by, and it never felt like a job.

I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset and a love for solving problems. Financial consulting lets me bring those together: an engineering-trained way of working through numbers and problems, combined with helping people find answers that fit their situation.

That is how I approach every client conversation. I listen, work through the numbers carefully, and help you and your accountant see the options clearly.
